Feeling strong? Ready to get stronger, and lose all the skin on your fingers in the process? The Shredded Tips Series is back for round 9! This is our classic 4 week long boulder series, all about stoke, progression, community building, and some friendly competition!
We will be doing a full gym reset and begin with 30-35 problems. Every week new problems will be added until we reach 50. Participants are trying to complete as many problems, bottom to top in one clean send, as possible over the course of the comp (see full rules below). The top 3 in each category will receive a small prize. All participants will be entered in weekly prize draws, the earlier you sign up the more chances to win! (participants will only be eligible to win 1 weekly draw) During the final week, all participants will also get tickets to enter for our larger final draw prizes.

Cost - Only $10! $5 is a donation to the local climbing access organization TAWKROC, $5 is for all the prizes!

SHREDDED TIPS # 9 RULES
How to start?
· Competitor must begin problem on starting holds for both hands and both feet. These holds are marked with 4 pieces of tape for a “4-point start” (unless otherwise indicated on the grade tag with a volume start).
· The competitor must achieve a stable controlled position with both hands and feet on the starting holds.
· A competitor may touch or use any part of the climbing surface (the wall) in order to attain the starting holds but may not touch holds or volumes other than the starting holds or start volumes.
How to finish?
· The finish hold is marked with a single piece of tape
· The competitor must match both hands on the finish hold in a controlled position
The attempt is deemed unsuccessful if,
· Any part of the competitor’s body touches the ground prior to the problem being successfully completed
· The competitor’s hand or foot touches a hold that is not part of the attempted problem
The attempt is deemed successful if,
· The competitor starts and finishes the boulder problem as stated above
· The climb is witnesses by another person, who then initials in the appropriate space on the scorecard.
Scoring
· The competitor will receive one point for every boulder problem successfully completed.
Prizes
· Prizes will be awarded on the final day on the competition for the top competitors from each category.
· Prizes will also be awarded weekly to random participants. Please check social media to see if you won.
· Competitors must claim their prizes within one week.
Categories
· Adult (16 and over) – Recreational VB – V4
· Adult (16 and over) – Advanced V4+
· Adult (60+) – Legends
· Youth (11 to 15)
· Youth (10 & Under)
Note - Adults may climb any grades outside of their category, however if Rec. climbers achieve 5 or more problems at or above the V4 level they will automatically be bumped up a category!
